Last week we made a trip to Cornwall
Matt, Jenn Helen & myself, flew from Stansted to Newquay (45mins)
We went  to see the Eden Project, one of UK's Millenium projects, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a wonderful garden, rescued in the early 90s from  a complete wilderness.

We arrive and see the Biomes at Eden

The latest exhibit called "The Core"

Horse made from driftwood

Concert stage transformed to an ice rink for the Christmas season

Walking down to the biomes (we did a lot of walking!)

Matt helps the elderly up the hill

Matt & Jenn are smiling - they used the lift to come back up

Would you look at that!

Helen in the Humid biome admires a palm

Another tropical giant

The waterfall helps to keep the humidity high

House in the West African area

Plants for building - bamboo

Sorry don't know the name - but it's very BIG

Bronze celebrating wine

Unusual flower in the Temperate Biome

A VERY big bee

Meanwhile the Mayor of Padstow looks on

Mud sculpture Heligan

Mud Mermaid

Down in the Jungle something stirred

Don't know what this one is either but the flower was BIG

Jenn takes a breather in the jungle

Helen surrounded by Bamboo

Giant Rhubarb

Old Git relaxing among the bananas

Yes they are surfers in the  Atlantic, and yes it is mid November!

So the holiday came to an end, only 3 days, but really enjoyable, I hope that we can go again!
